Jacqueline Koch is a Seattle-based freelance photojournalist who has focused on Indonesia since her IRP Fellowship in fall 2000. After her fellowship, she made additional reporting trips to Aceh and has focused on internal conflicts, military reform and the transition to democracy in post-Suharto Indonesia. Following the 2004 tsunami, Koch returned to Aceh as a journalist and a media trainer for the International Center for Journalists. She established and managed a community and media liaison office for a British medical organization. In recent years she has focused on global health issues both as a photojournalist and communications specialist for NGOs in Kenya, Mozambique, Myanmar and Sri Lanka, as well as in Indonesia. Her journalism work has appeared in Time, Newsweek, The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Sydney Morning Herald, The Seattle Times and Salon. Her most recent work can be seen at www.jmkoch.com.
